FRONT, SHOULDERS and REAR QUARTERS

Forequarters: Shoulders well laid, not too far apart. Loaded and straight shoulders undesirable. Forelegs straight, broad and flat, a good broad forearm and elbow being desirable.
I have tried to give you some line drawings and corresponding images on dogs with similar structures:
incorrect front assembly, upright in shoulder and short in upper arm giving a loaded shoulder.
correct with good width between front legs giving plenty of heart room and good fore chest viewed from the side.
a correct front assembly with good lay of shoulder. Notice good width at the elbow and nice flat bladed bone
narrow wish boned or cathedral front
week and ten to two pasterns this often comes along with a narrow front and the elbows are week and pin in. Movement would be erratic.
Hindquarters: Drooping, broad and powerful, hips well set apart. Hind legs well bent at stifle with great length from hip to hock, Bone broad and flat.
The rear end is the engine and propels the dogs at great speed. The bone needs to be strong and powerful with good muscle and especially a good first and second thigh. Nice width in the second thigh will give the right balance to the hound. It is worth bearing in mind this often does not come until the hound has finished growing and is reaching maturity usually between 2 and 3 years of age.
weakness in the first and second tights exhibiting cow hocks and bowed weakness in the rear.
